I just started this new job at a clinic in Denver and I need to buy snacks for the breakroom by Friday. I made a list on my phone but I have no idea how to show it to my boss for her okay first. Sorry if this is a dumb question but how do I actually send a list to her?

Hey there, welcome to the new gig. Since you are in a clinic, you gotta be a bit careful with how you share stuff, even if its just snacks. You dont want to accidentally share your whole personal iCloud or Google account by mistake. Honestly, the most reliable way is usually a shared Google Doc or a simple PDF export.

  • Shared Sheets: Good for tracking prices and quantities clearly.
  • PDF export: Very safe and professional since she cant accidentally change things.
  • Internal email: Just copy-pasting into a professional email is usually the safest bet for a paper trail. Just a heads up, avoid sending a messy screenshot because it looks unprofessional and its hard to read on a small screen. Also, definitely double check those link permissions so you dont lock her out. Let me know if you need help with the settings...

Saw this earlier but just now responding... definitely agree with the privacy point, you dont want your boss seeing your personal notes app or anything. I used to run the front desk at a small practice and tried the whole emailing a list thing, but it always ended up with my boss asking for prices or different sizes anyway which wasted so much time. It's way more efficient to share a live cart instead of a text list. I've been using Share-A-Cart for a while now and it's honestly a lifesaver for office orders. Basically it lets you send a link that shows exactly what you picked out. That way they can just click it, look over the brands, and give the green light without any back-and-forth emails. Good luck with the new job tho, you'll do great!

What app are you on? When I ran a clinic kitchen in 2019, checking how to share amazon cart was a decent option:

  • it tracks costs
  • its simple
