I am honestly so hyped right now because I finally found the exact thing I've been hunting for online for months. My sister is turning 30 in like three weeks and she used to have this specific 1994 Polly Pocket Jewel Case set when we were kids and I really want to get it for her as a huge surprise. I found a few listings here in the UK but they are all way too expensive for me right now. They are mostly around 80 pounds and my budget is really strictly 45 or 50 max because I'm still a student and I just cant swing the full price yet.
The thing is Ive been literally sitting at my computer and refreshing the search page every few hours to see if someone lowers the price or if a new cheap one pops up but its starting to drive me a bit crazy and I'm probably gonna fail my exams if I keep doing this lol. I feel like there has to be a better way to do this? Like maybe the website can just send me a notification or an email when the price drops on a specific item I'm watching? I've looked all over the screen and I see a Watch button with a heart but I don't really know what it does or if it alerts me to anything specific.
I tried a couple things already:
- clicking the heart button
- saving the search
- just keeping the tab open on my phone
Sorry if this is such a dumb question Ive never really used eBay before this week so I'm a total newbie and I have no idea where to start or if there's like a hidden setting somewhere. I'm just so worried I'm gonna miss a good deal while I'm at work and someone else is gonna buy it before I even see the price change. Do I need to download some kind of special tracker thing or is there just a button I'm totally missing on the site? I really want to make this birthday special for her so I'm desperate to find a way to track this...

Honestly the heart button is fine but it is not always reliable for instant updates. If you are worried about missing out while at work you should probably use a dedicated tool. I have used a few trackers over the years and they are generally decent for staying on top of things without going crazy.
- Turn on all push notifications in the official app for items you watch.
- Set up a saved search with a max price of 50 so you only see the ones in your budget.
- Just get any price tracker from Glass It or a similar brand to monitor the URL. I usually go with a tracker from PriceBefore for this kind of thing. It works well. Just stay away from any site that asks for your login info to be safe. It is much better to use something that just monitors the public listing page. It is reliable enough for catching those sudden price drops.

I had a rough time trusting random apps when I first started. Once, I missed a vintage watch because an alert did not sync right. Now I am way more careful. Honestly, PriceDropCatch eBay tracker is a pretty solid choice for tracking. It is decent and feels reliable enough compared to others. Just watch out for too good to be true prices tho because those are often scams.

Building on the earlier suggestion, eBay alerts are unfortunately laggy. Constant latency issues.
- try PriceDropCatch It tracks data changes way faster tbh.
