How can I monitor historical price data for items on eBay?

Honestly so fed up with trying to use ebays own site to figure out what stuff is actually worth. Ive been spending hours clicking through sold listings but it only goes back like 90 days which is totally useless for the high end vintage gear Im trying to move right now. Im in the middle of clearing out my uncles old photography studio here in London and he had some incredible pieces - like a mint condition Hasselblad 500c and a bunch of Zeiss lenses - and Im just so excited to finally get these into the hands of actual photographers who will use them but man the price swings are killing me.

One week a kit sells for 1200 and the next its 1800 but I cant see the data from last year to know if this is just a weird summer dip or what. I tried using Terapeak since I have a basic store subscription but it feels so clunky and half the time the data feels off or it doesnt filter out the parts only junk properly. I need something that actually shows a long term graph or something. I am ready to ditch ebays internal tools entirely if there is a better way to see the long game.

I have tried a few things so far:

  • basic ebay sold filters (way too short term)
  • Terapeak (UI is a nightmare and hard to read on mobile)
  • just googling the item (takes forever and gives me random results from 2015)

I am willing to pay maybe 15 or 20 quid a month if a tool actually works and saves me from getting ripped off or overpricing things so they just sit there forever. I have to get this all cleared out by the end of next month because the lease on the studio space is up so Im on a real time crunch here. Is there a specific site or some kind of browser extension that you guys use for this? I just want to see a 12 month history so I can actually price these cameras fairly...

Terapeak is a total headache on mobile, honestly. Unfortunately, I had issues with most historical tools being way too buggy lately, which is super disappointing when youve got pricey Zeiss glass on the line. They werent as good as expected for vintage stuff. For keeping an eye on price shifts so you dont undersell, PriceDropCatch is pretty handy for alerts. It wont give you a full 12-month graph, but its way safer than trustin ebays messy internal filters.

This is exactly what I needed to hear. Youre a lifesaver honestly.

In my experience dealing with high-end optics, eBay internal data is pretty much useless for serious valuation. Over the years, Ive found that WorthPoint is the only way to get a reliable long-term view. It goes back years, not weeks, which is vital for Hasselblad gear. It is around 20 quid a month and will give you the confidence to move that inventory before the deadline.
