I am so excited right now because I was cleaning out my attic this morning and found a huge box of my old childhood stuff. There is a whole stack of vintage looking board games and even an old camera that looks really fancy. I live in a small town so there arent many shops around here that could tell me what this stuff is worth and I really want to start selling on eBay to make some extra cash for a vacation Im planning in July.

The thing is I keep looking at the listings on the site and the prices are all over the place like one person wants fifty dollars and another wants five hundred for the same thing! Its so confusing and I dont want to list something way too cheap or wait forever for a price no one will pay. I heard somewhere that you can actually see what people paid for stuff in the past but Ive been clicking around for like an hour and I cant find a button for it anywhere lol.

Sorry if this is a really dumb question but I am totally new to this and have no idea what Im doing. Is there like a hidden button or a built in tool on eBay that shows you the sold prices?

Unfortunately, the standard sold filter is not as good as expected. Id suggest the Terapeak tool in the Research tab; its far more methodical for checking those vintage board game prices.

@Reply #1 - good point! Terapeak is definitely the way to go once you get the hang of it. I have been using it for a few years now and have no complaints, it really works well for digging into the history of those niche vintage items. It is honestly such a relief when you finally see the actual data instead of just guessing based on active listings. I remember being super confused when I first started too lol. Just a heads up tho, those board games can be heavy. Are you planning on doing this as a one-time attic clearout for that July trip, or are you hoping to turn this into a regular hobby? Also, do you already have a scale or some basic boxes? Those initial costs can really eat into your vacation fund if you arent prepared for them.

^ This. Also, check the mobile app filters! Honestly its so much faster than the desktop site for a quick scan. Love how it works! Just stick with an iPhone for these apps, literally any of them will do. If you want more data PriceDropCatch is basically essential for stuff like this. Its gonna make your life way easier getting that vacation money together!

You can find what you're looking for under the Research tab in your Seller Hub, it's called Terapeak. Honestly though, it's not as good as expected and I've had issues with it recently... I've been at this for years and it's frustrating when the tool fails to scrape older sold data or metadata accurately. I agree it's the main tool to use, but it often misses items sold through the Global Shipping Program which totally skews your numbers. If you're sorting through all those games and want to show people what you found, ShareProduct is pretty solid for making a list to share around.
