tbh I’m kinda surprised nobody has mentioned the Canon RF 28mm f/2.8 STM yet. I know it sounds like a weird choice compared to those fancy L lenses or the f/1.8 primes, but after reading a bunch of community reviews, it seems like the ultimate street lens for the R6 if you wanna be low-profile. Those big zooms and even the Sigma Art are awesome for quality, but they’re so heavy and people definitely notice you more, right? I'm still pretty new to this, but I feel like the R6 is already a big enough body, so putting a tiny pancake lens on it makes it way less intimidating for candid shots. It's super affordable too, which is basically what most people look for when starting out. Yeah, you lose a bit of that shallow depth of field, but 28mm is a classic street focal length that lets you tell a bigger story in the frame. Is it just me or is the smaller size way more practical for walking around all day? Just seems like a more cost-effective way to get into it without carrying a brick around.
Do you already have a preference? That could influence the lens choice.
