im honestly so frustrated right now with this rebel t7 like why did canon make it so hard to find a flash that actually works?? i bought this godox one for a wedding im shooting next month in philly and it just wont fire at all no matter what i do. apparently the t7 is missing some pin in the middle of the mount? i dont know im not a tech person i just need something that actually works and wont break my $150 budget because im already stressed enough as it is. i need to get this sorted before the 15th or im gonna look like a total amateur. what is actually the best rated flash that is 100% compatible with this specific camera?

Canon really did us dirty with that missing pin. I went through three different flashes before realizing only specific newer models talk to the T7. In my experience, the Godox TT685II-C TTL Speedlite is the way to go. Its right around $130 and was built to fix this exact headache. I use it for all my low light stuff now and it never misses a beat.

I've been shooting weddings for years and honestly, gear failure is my biggest nightmare. That missing center pin on the T7 was a really weird move by Canon. If you want to stay under that $150 budget and ensure 100% compatibility without any tech headaches, Id suggest the Canon Speedlite EL-100. Its basically designed to bridge the gap for these entry-level bodies that lack the sync pin. Its super compact, which is a lifesaver when youre on your feet for hours. Just remember to grab some Panasonic Eneloop Pro AA Rechargeable Batteries because regular alkalines recycle way too slowly and youll miss the big moments. In my experience, native gear just talks to the camera better during high-pressure events. Take a deep breath, practice bouncing the light this weekend, and youll be fine. You got this... everyone feels like an amateur their first time out.
