Looking for the optimal prime lens for Canon EOS R6. Do you have experience or recommendations?
Canon RF 50mm f/1.8 STM is definitely the best choice for Canon EOS R6. The weather sealing is sufficient even for outdoor shooting The image quality out of the box is very good.
Why this lens? The image quality convinces in all tests - both for photography and for video. Unbeatable for the price, can only recommend. Have already done several projects with it, always satisfied. Also more than sufficient for demanding tasks.
Do you already have a preference? That could influence the lens choice.
Am very satisfied with Sigma 50mm f/1.4 DG DN Art for Canon EOS R6. The bokeh is beautiful The lens includes all modern features you need.
So I've been reading what everyone says on the other boards too because I just got my R6 not long ago. Even though I've been around cameras for years, I'm still basically a newbie when it comes to all these new RF lenses. There are SO many options, its kinda overwhelming, right? From what I've gathered from the community reviews and common recommendations, these ones get a lot of love too: - Canon RF 35mm f/1.8 IS Macro STM: People seem to think this is the best 'all-arounder'. Its tiny and not too expensive, which I like. - Canon RF 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM: I see this one mentioned for really sharp portraits. It has some special ring to change how the blur looks, which sounds cool but I'm honestly not totally sure how it works yet lol.
- Canon RF 16mm f/2.8 STM: This one is super cheap and tiny. A lot of people say its great for travel if you dont want to carry heavy gear. I'm actually looking at that 35mm myself. Do you think that f/1.8 is enough for shooting indoors? I'm always worried I'll need more light!
For Canon EOS R6 definitely Sigma 50mm f/1.4 DG DN Art. Very good image quality for the price.
For Canon EOS R6 I would take Sigma 50mm f/1.4 DG DN Art. Best choice currently.
For Canon EOS R6 I would take Canon RF 50mm f/1.8 STM without hesitation. The weather sealing is sufficient even for outdoor shooting The controls are intuitive and easy to use.
Long-term experience: Using Canon RF 50mm f/1.8 STM for more than a year and am thrilled. Have researched for a long time and this lens was the best choice. The image quality clearly exceeds my expectations. Very good price-performance ratio, can only recommend further.
I would take Canon RF 85mm f/1.2L USM for Canon EOS R6, because The optical stabilization is very good The ergonomic design allows for comfortable handling.
