What are the best travel tripods for a Canon Rebel T7 that wont break the bank? Im leaving for a trip to Iceland in like 10 days so I need to order something literally today.
Ive been looking at the Manfrotto Element MII and it looks solid but some reviews say its actually kinda bulky for long hikes and backpacking. Then I saw the Joby GorillaPod 3K but I dont know if it can actually support my T7 if I have my 75-300mm lens on there... it seems like it might just tip over or the legs will slip. I need something lightweight but stable enough for wind since Iceland is crazy. My budget is strictly under 150 bucks so what should I get?
> Re: "Coming back to this, you should be very careful with the wind in Iceland." Yeah, that wind is scary. I almost lost my setup at Seljalandsfoss because I didn't weigh things down properly. Maybe look at the K&F Concept TM2324 62 inch Aluminum Travel Tripod since it is usually cheap. It has a hook for your bag which you definitely want to use for stability. Just be careful with that 75-300mm lens tho... it catches the wind like a sail and might tip.
Coming back to this, you should be very careful with the wind in Iceland. I would suggest looking at the Vanguard VEO 3GO 235AB Aluminum Tripod as a stable alternative. You might want to check The Center Column for technical stability ratings. That long lens will definitely cause a GorillaPod to sag, so make sure to use a tripod with a center hook for extra weight... dont risk your Rebel T7.
Lol I was literally about to post the same thing. Glad someone else brought it up.
Just seeing this now! You gotta check out the MeFOTO RoadTrip S Aluminum Travel Tripod. Honestly it is such a fantastic choice for the price and fits right into a carry-on or strapped to a bag. I use a similar setup and it holds a Rebel T7 with a longer lens no problem. It is way more reliable than a GorillaPod for sure. Another amazing one is the Sirui T-005X Aluminum Travel Tripod with C-10S Ball Head. It is super light but still feels really pro. Iceland is gonna be incredible but seriously... ngl that wind will knock your gear over if you arent careful. Just use the weight hook and youll be fine. Both of these are usually way under 150 bucks so you can get them delivered fast!
