I am seriously so annoyed right now trying to organize my Christmas list. Every year my family bugs me for a list by the end of November and I always wait until the last minute so now my mom is texting me every single hour asking where it is lol. I really want to be able to add stuff from all over the place because I have a bunch of specific things I want like this one candle from a local shop here in Seattle and some tech stuff from Best Buy.
I tried using Elfster because a lot of people online say its the gold standard but honestly it feels way too focused on doing a Secret Santa draw and the UI is just super clunky and weird to navigate for just a personal list. Then I looked at the Amazon universal registry thing but the browser extension literally never works for me and it keeps getting the prices wrong which is frustrating because I'm trying to keep everything under a $500 limit so people don't think I'm being greedy. I just want something that looks clean and actually lets people mark things as bought without me seeing it.
Does anyone know which website is actually the best for a multi-store Christmas wishlist that isn't a total headache to set up?
Just wanted to say thanks for everyone chiming in. Super helpful discussion.
TL;DR: GiftHero is my go-to. Ive tried every platform since 2015 and it handles local URLs best. Quick question tho, you looking for an app or just desktop use?
In my experience, trying to find a list that doesnt feel like a 2005 spreadsheet is a total nightmare. I remember one year I tried using a shared notes app, but then three different people bought me the same coffee grinder... super awkward. Over the years, I've found that MyRegistry is really the only one that stays reliable.
