I'm actually about to lose it with these local jewelry stores. I went into the mall today hoping to finally pick up a Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical and the guy at the counter wanted like $620 plus tax which is insane. He wouldnt even budge on the price and acted like he was doing me a favor just letting me look at it. I know these things go for way less online but every time I start looking at sites I get so anxious about getting a fake or a refurbished one that was sold as new. It's just so stressful because I dont want to overpay but I also dont want to get scammed out of my hard earned money. Honestly fed up with the AD experience it feels like such a gatekept hobby sometimes and I'm just trying to get a decent entry level piece.

I've been looking at Jomashop and Ashford but the reviews are all over the place and some people say the customer service is a nightmare if anything goes wrong. Like what happens if the movement is dead on arrival or if it's running like +/- 30 seconds a day? I'm trying to get this sorted out before my brothers wedding in three weeks and I really dont have time to be sending stuff back and forth through the mail for months. My budget is strictly under $550 for the watch itself because I spent way too much on the suit already and my wife is gonna kill me if I go over. I'm based in New Jersey so I need something that ships from the US preferably.

Must be a legit site that wont steal my credit card info

Needs to have Hamilton in stock and ready to ship within 48 hours

Budget is around $450-$550 max

Hopefully some kind of return policy even if it is a grey market seller

Shipping to the east coast needs to be fast

Is there anywhere else besides those big ones? I looked at Chrono24 too but the private sellers and the shipping from Japan or Europe make me even more nervous honestly with the customs fees and everything. I just want a nice watch for once without feeling like I'm getting ripped off by an AD or gambling with some random site from overseas that might send me a box of rocks. If anyone has actually bought a Hamilton recently from a site they trust please tell me because I'm honestly ready to just give up on the whole thing...

The lens it came with is fine I guess but I really want that super blurry background look for portraits and I cant figure out which lens to buy. I've been looking online and keep seeing people talk about nifty fifties and 85mm and something about an adapter? Its all really confusing and I dont want to spend more than like 300 bucks if I can help it since I already spent a lot on the camera. I need something by next Saturday for a family picnic.

is there a lens that just fits without extra parts?

are the cheap ones actually good for portraits or just junk?

I really need to pull the trigger on a Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical like yesterday because my brothers wedding is in ten days and I totally dropped the ball on his gift. Im stuck between a few spots and the price gaps are stressing me out. Jomashop has it for like $430 which is great for my budget but I keep hearing horror stories about their warranty or shipping delays and I cant risk it not showing up by next Friday. Then there is this local jeweler near me in Chicago that has it in stock but they want full MSRP which is like $595 plus tax... way over what I wanted to spend honestly. I also saw a mint one on Reddit for $380 but the guy havent messaged me back yet and I'm getting nervous. Should I just suck it up and pay the AD price for the peace of mind or is there some secret way to get them to price match a gray market site?? I feel like Im gonna end up overpaying just because I waited too long but man $600 for a field watch feels steep when I know they go for way less online. Is there any other reputable site that ships fast and actually has real discounts or should I just go with Joma and pray to the shipping gods?

Does anyone know which tool actually monitors stock availability across several online marketplaces at the same time and actually works? I am honestly so fed up with the built-in notify me buttons on places like Best Buy and Newegg because they are literally useless and by the time the email hits my inbox the part is already sold out again and im back to square one. I am trying to build a mid-range PC for my sons birthday which is in three weeks and I am getting so anxious that I wont have it ready in time because I cant find a decent GPU at MSRP.

My budget is capped at $400 for the card itself and I just refuse to pay some random guy on Facebook Marketplace double the price but man this is exhausting. I tried using some free chrome extensions but they are so laggy and half the time they dont even refresh unless I have the tab open which defeats the whole point if im at work. Is there a reliable service or an app that pings your phone the second something drops across multiple sites? I dont mind paying a small subscription fee if it actually works and helps me beat the bots for once... im just so tired of refreshing pages manually every five minutes it's driving me crazy.

Does anyone know which spare batteries actually work best with the R5 Mark II without losing the new features? I just pre-ordered the thing and it should be here in like two weeks but man the price of the official Canon LP-E6P batteries is absolutely killing me right now. Im a wedding photographer based out of Seattle and Ive got this massive 12-hour outdoor gig coming up in mid-September so Im gonna need at least 4 or 5 spares to feel safe. Ive been doing some digging online and everyone is saying you HAVE to use the new P version of the battery if you want to use the cool new stuff like the 30fps burst or the pre-continuous shooting mode which is basically why I bought the camera in the first place lol.

I read on a couple of forums that the older LP-E6NH ones will fit and power the camera but it might disable some of the high-speed modes or the networking features and thats super confusing because some people say it only happens when the battery gets below 60 percent. Im also looking at the third-party stuff like Neewer or SmallRig because they are like a third of the price of the Canon ones which are like eighty bucks a pop. But then I saw a video saying third-party batteries might give an incompatible warning on the screen or even worse they might overheat during video recording and Im super paranoid about the camera locking up in the middle of the ceremony.

My budget is pretty stretched thin after buying the body and a new CFexpress card so I really dont want to spend another 400 dollars just on batteries if I dont have to. Is anyone actually using the R5II with third party batteries yet or are we stuck with the official ones for now to get the full performance?

Official Canon LP-E6P

Neewer USB-C versions

Using my old LP-E6NH leftovers

But the compatibility thing is such a headache and I really dont want to risk it if the camera is gonna throttle itself right when things get busy...

I looked into those universal wish list sites like Giftster but they seem a bit clunky for his grandparents who barely know how to use an iPad.

My logic was maybe just an Amazon list since everyone has Prime but then I read that it can be a pain if someone wants to buy from a local toy shop instead.

okay so I am honestly so fed up with the Canon Camera Connect app like it is literally the most frustrating piece of software I have ever had the misfortune of using on my phone. Every single time I try to set up a long exposure for some night shots it just drops the connection right when the shutter is supposed to click or it lags so hard that I miss the timing entirely and its just... ugh. I am getting so excited to finally get some decent milky way shots when I head out to Glacier National Park in three weeks but I know if I rely on that app I am gonna end up throwing my phone into a canyon.

So I was thinking maybe I should just go old school and get a physical remote but I am stuck on which one actually plays nice with the 90D specifically. My logic was that a wired one like the RS-60E3 would be the most reliable because there is no signal to drop right? But then I started worrying about accidentally bumping the cord and causing motion blur which would totally defeat the purpose of using a remote in the first place. Then I looked at the BR-E1 bluetooth remote and I got all hyped because its official Canon gear but I keep reading mixed reviews about the pairing process being a total nightmare and honestly I just want something that works the first time every time.

I have about 80 bucks set aside for this which I feel like should be enough for something that doesnt feel like a cheap plastic toy? I looked at some third party intervalometers too because I kinda want to try doing some time-lapse stuff while I am out there but I dont want to buy another piece of junk that breaks after two uses. Does anyone actually use a specific remote with their 90D that they swear by? I need something that wont fail me when it is 30 degrees outside and I am in the middle of nowhere...
